Advisory: ENGWR 102 or 103, ESLL 320 or ESLR 320 or ESLW 320 or placement through assessment process General Education: CSU Area C1 Course Transferable to UC/CSU Hours: 36 hours LEC; 54 hours LAB This course consists of a structured examination of the formal and technical aspects of 35mm photography. Topics include critiques of major movements in the history of photography and contemporary silver process artists. A problem-solving approach is utilized to explore compositional ideas. Camera operation, black and white fi lm developing, and printmaking are covered. Digital photography concepts are introduced. A 35mm single lens refl ex (SLR) camera as well as darkroom and portfolio supplies are required. Processing chemicals are provided.
