Topics include "tradition" and"modernity," patriarchy, power and agency, sexuality, andnationalism. Thematically organized to present and critique gender, history, and South Asia, and to introduce global feminisms. Satisfies the pre-fall 2008 asian-african requirement and may satisfy the pre-fall 2008 general education requirement in upper-level humanities. 4 credits.
