This elective course presents an overview of some complementary and alternative healing therapies that are available today. People are searching out different therapies because they are not satisfied with the usual treatments, are seeking more natural methods or are choosing to take responsibility for their own healing. Each therapy will be described as to its uses, its contraindications, training and education required. Further, implications for nurses, other health care professionals and consumers will be discussed. In addition, CAM therapy practitioners will be invited in as guest speakers. F/S ( C, N, S)
