Heating and cooling load calculations of buildings are discussed. Heat loss or gain through walls and windows by conduction and air infiltration are reviewed. Solar heat gain through windows is studied. Heat gains by people, equipment and lighting is discussed. Heating and cooling equipment sizing is demonstrated in projects. Duct sizing, pipe sizing, piping methods and psychrometrics are briefly reviewed in this course. Concurrent registration in ME 102, or permission of instructor. S (N)
