Lecture course providing a detailed examination of the central dogma of molecular biology - DNA replication, transcription, reverse transcription, and translation - in viruses, prokaryotes, and eukaryotes. Standard techniques of biotechnology used to study molecular biology will be emphasized. Additional topics including, eukaryotic chromosome structure and regulation of gene expression, will also be discussed. Prerequisite: Biology 310 passed with a minimum grade of C- or higher.
