Course Transferable to CSU Hours: 27 hours LEC; 27 hours LAB This course introduces basic security concepts, principles and "best practices" and explores ways in which security for a stand-alone PC and a network-connected PC can be compromised. It provides ways in which the security of a PC can be checked and evaluated. Principles of ethical hacking are discussed. Internal and external security threats are discussed, including viruses, worms, trojans, scripts and other malicious e-mail content. Network vulnerabilities, common exploits and basic countermeasures are discussed.
