Prerequisite: ET 386 with a grade of "C" or better.Course Transferable to CSU Hours: 36 hours LEC This course covers advanced fi ber optic theory and operation. Fiber optic systems are vital communication links that enable high speed transfer of video, telephone, and data to occur. Testing of fi ber optic systems using sophisticated electra-optical test equipment such as the Optical Time Domain Refl ectometer (OTDR) is included. This course also introduces the use of computer based software to simplify fi ber optic system design. May be taken twice for credit.
