Prerequisite: ENGWR 300 with a grade of "C" or better.General Education: AA/AS Area I; CSU Area C2; IGETC Area 3B Course Transferable to UC/CSU Hours: 54 hours LEC This course examines the processes, problems, and successes of adapting literary, stage, and previous fi lm material into fi lms. It discusses faithful and unfaithful adaptations through reading the original texts and viewing the adapted fi lms with an awareness of their historical and cultural contexts. The course analyzes intention, creative distinctions, and the limits and strengths of each medium.
