Beginning modern dance includes basic movement technique, alignAmerican River College Catalog 2008-2009 240 physical education ment and vocabulary. It gives a foundation in the history and traditions of modern dance in America and encourages individual expression and creativity. Intermediate modern dance refi nes the basic skills and utilizes improvisation and problem solving techniques in dealing with space, design, time, shape, and energy. This course may be taken four times for credit.
