Course Transferable to UC/CSU Hours: 54 hours LEC This course focuses on the overall improvement of vocal quality, explores monologue and dialog performances, and develops confi dence in speaking and voice production. It emphasizes self-improvement drills involving breath control, resonance, pitch, infl ection and articulation and introduces a study of the vocal mechanism, its parts and their functions. Additionally, this course covers the study and application of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), and includes a special study and application of stage dialects and/or accent reduction.
