5 units 10 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 099, READ 099, and MATH 070. Study of refrigeration fundamentals including heat transfer, energy, and the basic refrigeration system. Basic tools with some specialty tools and basic refrigerant handling skills will also be covered. Topics include: brazing of copper tubing; repair and replacement of components, along with maintenance on domestic refrigeration equipment. Recommended for students desiring to enter the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. (AVC)
