3 units 4 hours weekly Prerequisite: Completion of CA 175. Advisory: Completion of CA 176 and Eligibility for ENGL 099, READ 099, and MATH 102. This course provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to manage a Microsoft Internet Information Server (Microsoft IIS). A Microsoft Internet Information Server provides Web, File Transfer, DNS, and SMTP services on the Internet. The students in this course will configure these services and create server security to prevent intruders from accessing information on the server through the Internet. Topics will include installing, creating, and fine-tuning WEB, FTP, DNS and SMTP services on the Microsoft IIS Server. Students will create and manage user accounts and provide WEB document access. This course will help students prepare for Microsoft IIS Exam #70-087. (CSU, AVC)
