3 units 3 hours weekly Prerequisite: Completion of CFE 101 and CFE 102. Advisory: Eligibility for College Level Reading and ENGL 101. Guidelines for creating a safe and healthy environment for young children will be explored. While the focus of this course is on young children in educational settings, the course will be useful for parents and community volunteers as well as early childhood professionals. This course includes training in emergency preparedness, public health and safety, personal health, safety and nutrition, and emphasizes partnerships between home, school and the community. Students will have the opportunity to earn CPR and First Aid certification as part of the course. A current TB clearance may be required. (CSU, AVC)
