CFE 120 - infant/ Toddler Development

3 units 3 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for College Level Reading and ENGL 101, and Eligibility for MATH 070. Designed for students planning to work in infant/toddler programs, this course promotes an understanding of infant/ toddler development, accepted infant/ toddler care theories and practices, health and safety concerns, and appropriate educational and parenting strategies. Students will observe infants and toddlers in home and childcare settings and evaluate adult/child interactions in the context of care-giving relationships. A current TB clearance may be required. This course meets California licensing requirements for the care of infants and toddlers in center-based and family child care-based settings. (AVC)
