4 units 6 hours weekly (3 hours lecture, 3 hours lab) Advisory: Eligibility for College Level Reading and ENGL 101, and Eligibility for MATH 102. Introduction to Earth Science is an overview of the general principles of geology, astronomy, meteorology and oceanography. Students will examine minerals, rocks, and the geological processes that shape Earth's surface, the atmosphere and oceans, stars and planets. Laboratory exercises will expose students to a variety of hands-on activities exploring the Earth Sciences. (CSU, AVC)
