3 units 6 hours weekly Prerequisite: Completion of CG 101/MM 101. Corequisite: Concurrent enrollment in CG 205L. Advisory: Eligibility for READ 099. Instructional materials fee required for this course and must be paid at registration. A broad-based introduction to the multiple elements of commercial illustration using microcomputers. This course is designed to provide a basic foundation in the use of computer techniques including color paint and draw programs for the production of commercial illustrations, logos, brochures, etc. Included within the course are the use of video input, slide image transfer, gray scale scanners and color graphic printers, special graphictext processing, and output production devices such as laser and thermal image printers.
