3 units 6 hours weekly Prerequisite: Completion of CG 101/MM 101. Corequisite: Concurrent enrollment in CG 115L. Advisory: Eligibility for READ 099. Instructional materials fee required for this course and must be paid at registration. A broad-based introduction to the multiple elements of commercial publishing using the microcomputer. This course is designed to provide a basic foundation in the use of electronic page layout techniques including video ditherizing, image transfer, graphics production software, graphic scanners, text processing, and output production devices such as laser and thermal image printers.
