This course will address the major philosophical problems and figures of the modern period in Western philosophy. The problem of knowledge, the unity of the subject, and the nature of the mind are a few of the issues to be addressed in this course. We will focus on such thinkers as Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz, Hume, and Kant.
