Recommended for students who have not met the reading competency requirements at entrance or for those who wish to improve their skills in academic reading. Emphasizes critical reading critical thinking, and reading flexibility with collegelevel material (poetry, short stories, essays, textbook chapters). Focuses on application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation in both oral and written form. Includes responding, summarizing, and outlining.
