A systematic study of the principles of inorganic, organic and biochemistry using a qualitative and quantitative approach. Topics include physical principles of chemistry; inorganic compounds and reactions; a survey of organic chemistry-classification, compounds, reactions, nomenclature; biochemistry-classification, composition, reactions in living organisms. Prerequisite: MATH BA with a grade of "C"or equivalent. Reading Level 5 or 6. Recommended: Math within the last two years. Hours: 54 lect, 36 disc, 72 lab. CCS: Liberal Arts and Sciences.
