Provides a foundation for pediatric nursing using growth and development concepts as a framework for presenting health problems and special concerns of the pediatric client. Communication, anticipatory guidance, response to hospitalization, legal and ethical issues and health care of pediatric clients are discussed. Prerequisites: Completion of the first and second semesters of ADN/VN Program or evaluation by program director of skills and knowledge, concurrent enrollment in NURS B6L. Hours: 27 lect. Offered: F, S. CCS: Occupational Education. Transferable: CSU and private colleges. Note: Not open to students who have taken the equivalent course, VNRS B6.
