The properties of waves, sound, light, electricity, magnetism, atomic and nuclear physics. Emphasizes understanding laws, principles and theories. Required for most science, pre-medical, and most other pre-professional and technical majors. Prerequisites: MATH bib (or old MATH BC), and either PHYS B2a or high school physics with a "C" or better. Hours: 54 lect, 18 disc, 54 lab. CCS: Liberal Arts & Sciences.
