Survey of three western religions-Judaism, Christianity, and Islam-and background religions to these, including Egyptian, Persian, and European. Topics include each religion's history, sacred scriptures, geographic dispersion, primary theological concepts and spiritual practices, and its role in contemporary society. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the distinct belief and practice of an individual in each of these religious traditions. Recommended: Reading Level 5 or 6, English Level 6. Hours: 54 lect.
