The history of ancient philosophy surveys the development of Western philosophy from the Presocratics to the Hellenistics with particular emphasis on the philosophies of Plato and Aristotle. The focus throughout will be on analyzing and evaluating the central arguments of these philosophers as well as understanding how their views have contributed to the subsequent development of philosophy, science, art, and literature.
