Prerequisites: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate from a state approved program and meet admission criteria for Practical Nursing (PN) program. This combined theory and lab course is designed to recognize the prior learning and clinical experience of nursing assistants who hold current State of Florida Nursing Assistant Certification and have previously completed a state approved 165 hour Nursing Assistant Program. Emphasis will be given to the role of the practical nurse and how it incorporates the role of the nursing assistant and to ensuring that the student is ready to merge into the practical nurse program at an advance level.
