IThis course explores the fundamental techniques of oil painting. Basic problems are designed for beginners as well as students with some previous experience. Realism and Impressionism are studied through still life and landscape projects, while the basics of theory and composition are stressed. This course will help students to understand form and space as a foundation for more advanced painting techniques. Prerequisite: ART 13 or permission of instructor. Two hours critique/lecture and four hours studio a week. Instructional Support Fee applies3 credits Fall
