TechnologiesThis course introduces students to data communications and networking concepts as they relate to both local and wide area networks. The framework for the lectures is the OSI reference model. It presents data translation, transmission media, and data transmission as well as network structures, topologies, physical layouts, and communication protocols. The courses discusses the popular protocol stacks, firewalls, name resolution, and proxy servers. It discusses in detail the Internet and IP addressing.
