OperationsThis course will explore PC and laptop computer technology. Students will compare and contrast features, learn to maintain a laptop/PC computer, and learn to troubleshoot common hardware and software problems. DOS, Windows 9x, and Windows NT will be introduced. The installation and upgrade of hardware components, operating system software, and application software will also be introduced. Methods for connecting I/O devices (printers and monitors) to a laptop/PC will be covered. This course will not prepare the student for the A+ Certification exam, but it will cover the subjects on the exam at the introductory level. Students that have taken CIS24 or CIS53 will not be allowed credit for this course. Three class hours per week. Instructional Support Fee applies3 credits Spring
