Students will develop a basic understanding of the digital camera and current electronic imaging technology. The course will explore the use of the digital camera, storage media, imaging software, and printing techniques. While establishing technical skills, students will explore the possibilities of this medium for visual communication and personal expression. Students must provide a Digital SLR camera. Previous experience with photography and the computer is beneficial but not required. Minimum four to six hours of additional lab time each week will be necessary to complete the goals of the course. Additional expenses for textbook, storage mediums and printing paper will be incurred.
