Advanced techniques in collecting venous blood and capillary blood specimens. Topics include anatomy and physiology as related to specimen collection; properties of arterial blood versus venous blood; specialized collection equipment; specialized collection techniques; requisitioning, specimen transport and specimen processing, and quality assurance. Competency required in the performance of routine venipuncture and microblood drawing techniques. Prerequisite- Corequisite Prerequisite: CLT 204 Fundamental Phlebotomy or approval of the CLT advisor.
