Video imaging offers a myriad of possibilities for the combination and layering of sound and image, manipulating our perception of space and time. This class examines the nature of "video art" and how it differs from television, photographyand film. Students are exposed to the techniques of video/film production and the use of the video camera and editing software (Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro). A critical analysis of the video medium is included along with the continual assessment of student video projects. Cameras and editing equipment are provided. 3 credits.
