4 units; 4 hours Lecture Prerequisite: CHIN 1, or two years of high school Chinese, or the equivalent. Corequisite: CHIN 50L. Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100. Communicative approach including practice in aural comprehension. Speaking, reading and writing, including basic vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. Appreciation of Chinese culture is emphasized. This course May be offered in a Distance-Learning Format. Transfer Credit: Transfers to CSU. Transfers to UC. CAN CHIN4.
