1-3 units; 1 hour Lecture Repeatability: May be taken a total of 2 times. Recommended Preparation: ECE 31 or ECE 131; ECE 53; eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100, when taught in English, or concurrent enrollment in ESL 201A or ESL 220A or higher ESL level, when taught in Spanish. Studies appropriate developmental practices for incorporating music with young children including singing, chanting, and making music. Demonstrates methods for finding and recognizing developmentally appropriate songs and chants and developing a resource file. Appropriate for teachers, caregivers, and parents. May be taught in Spanish as part of the Bilingual Spanish/English ECE teacher skills certificate.
