1-3 units; 1 hour Lecture Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100 when taught in English, or concurrent enrollment in ESL 201A or ESL 220A or higher ESL level when taught in Spanish. Examines how toddlers learn and grow, explore and think, learn language, develop physical skills, explore relationships and autonomy, share and learn culture. Studies the role of family in supporting toddler development and how relationships and roles change in the family when babies grow into toddlers. Does not meet Social Services Licensing requirements for infant/toddler care but may be used in conjunction with ECE 135 for the 6-unit Infant-Toddler Specialization Certificate. May be offered in a Distance-Learning and/or Bilingual English/Spanish Format.
