3 units; 2 hours Lecture, 6 hours Laboratory Repeatability: May be taken a total of 2 times. Prerequisite: DM 173A or equivalent. Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100. Covers advanced concepts and techniques of Macromedia Flash focusing on the programming language ActionScript. Hands-on experience creating multimedia-based Web sites incorporating ActionScript, sound and graphics. Topics include the programming concepts of variables, operators, conditional statements, loops and functions. Taught on Macintosh. Adaptable to Windows. Portions of the course will be taught in a Distance-Learning Format.
