3 units; 3 hours Lecture Prerequisite: ENGL 1A/1AH/1AMC/1AMCH. Recommended Preparation: LIBR 10 (may be taken concurrently). Introduces multicultural literature through reading, writing, and discussion to develop analytical skills. Satisfies the IGETC and CSU Humanities and Fine Arts (ENGL 1B) requirements and Cabrillo multicultural requirement. Students write at least 6,000 words, focusing on literary interpretation and research. May be offered in a Distance-Learning Format. Transfer Credit: Transfers to CSU. Transfers to UC: Not open to students who have completed ENGL 1B. CAN ENGL4.
