2 units; 2 hours Lecture Repeatability: May be taken a total of 2 times. Prerequisite: RT 52. Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100 and READ 100. Studies state and federal laws which govern and control the use of ionizing radiation and the manufacture and use of radiation equipment. An introduction to radiation protection with methods of protection from radiation for the patient and the technologist and radiobiology with emphasis on absorption of radiation and its effects upon biological tissue. Transfer Credit: Transfers to CSU.
