This course is designed to educate the student in theoretical and technical aspects of the art and science of phlebotomy. A combination of lectures, demonstrations, and a student laboratory application, which includes the focus of study on blood specimen collection, adult and pediatric venipuncture, and capillary collection, will be used during this course. The student will have the knowledge needed for clinical experience, though no clinical experience is included in this course. This course does not result in phlebotomy certification. It is intended for health care students that will have venipuncture as part of their profession. Examples of such professions are, but not limited to: nurses, medical laboratory technologists and radiologic technologists. Laboratory ( 30.00)
