In this course dealing with written English for healthcare in general, and nursing in particular, students will be introduced to the main principles of process writing, drawing on case studies, essays on ethics and cross-cultural nursing, and articles covering the competing theories of nursing. Students will focus on and become familiar with several genres of writing including composing academic papers, summaries, reflection pieces, critiques of seminal articles in nursing, as well as the process of composing a nursing diagnosis, a care plan, and recording patient histories. In addition, students will be introduced to key vocabulary for reading and writing English for healthcare. Lecture ( 45.00) Prerequisites: ESL-014, ENG-013 and ENG-023 Corequisites: COM-051
