Dental Hygiene III Seminar is a lecture/discussion period designed to expand the student's knowledge and understanding of the clinical practice of the dental hygienist. Through the utilization of guest lecturers, slide presentations, and class group activities, the student will acquire information relating to dental hygiene clinical practice in the following areas: plaque control counseling, nutritional counseling, pain and anxiety control, dental hypersensitivity/iontophoresis, ultrasonics and sonic scalers, prophy jet, pit and fissure sealants, smoking and periodontal disease recontour/polish amalgams. As needed, at the end of each class there will be group discussion directly related to problems and progress in clinic. Lecture ( 30.00) Prerequisites: DHY-122 and DHY-152
