The objective of this course is to reduce the grammatical structures and difficulties of a Slavic language to the barest minimum and to present essentials simply, clearly, and as effectively as possible for the student without avoiding those indispensable principles of grammar and idiomatic language. The stress is on oral comprehension, reading, and selfexpression with a great abundance of writing opportunities. This class is intended for students beginning the language or for those who have received a grade average below C in two years of high school Russian.
