This course, although developed for nursing assistants and home health aides, may be of interest to the general public. Topics include health promotion, parenting, hospice care, and care of the sick and disabled child and adolescent. A holistic approach to families is used to prepare the aide to assist in meeting the physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs of children and their care providers. CNA and/or HHA certification is required for employment. Prerequisite: High school diploma or GED; and documented successful completion of at least a seventy-five hour nursing assistant or home health aide course is preferred / 3 credits.
