In this introduction to building client/server Internet applications, students create Common Gateway Interface (CGI) scripts with the Perl language and JavaScript servlets. Students learn to write, debug, document, run, and maintain scripts that are useful for making web pages interactive and dynamic. Debugging techniques and web server security issues related to CGI files are also discussed. Prerequisite: GIT183 and CSC110 / 3 credits. Offered in the Fall and Spring.
