THR 205 - Directing for Theater

This studio course will combine the introduction of basic directing theory and the application of technique to assigned scenes. Students will be expected to have some previous theater experience on stage or behind the scenes. Students will learn to interpret scripts for performance, prepare for auditions, manage rehearsals, and refine actors work for public presentation. Students will direct two projects: a staged reading and a memorized two-person scene in cooperation with actors from college acting classes. Prerequisite: THR103 / 3 credits.
