3 hours per week. Persons working in early childhood programs will, at some point, interact with young children who have disabilities (ADA child care requirements). Knowledge of various disabling conditions is necessary for early childhood educators as mainstreaming is realized, with a greater understanding of the definitions for, characteristics of, and conditions associated with each disability. Early childhood personnel will be better able to instruct, interact with and provide care for children with disabilities.
