Class hours: 56-63 lecture and 24-27 laboratory. Prerequisite: Eligibility for Mathematics 520 as determined by the Chaffey assessment process, or completion of Mathematics 510. Not Degree Applicable. For students preparing for elementary algebra, who are competent in the basic operations of arithmetic, but need review of fractions, decimals, percents, and a preview of the elementary concepts of algebra. Topics include: rational number arithmetic, order of operations, Pythagorean theorem, variable expressions, solving linear equations, application problems, graphing linear equations, polynomial operations, and factoring using the Greatest Common Factor. 4930.41
