Course is offered only on a pass/no-pass basis. Class hours: 48-54 lecture. Prerequisite: Eligibility for Reading 500 as determined by the Chaffey assessment process. Not Degree Applicable. Beginning reading class for students from a variety of backgrounds and learning skill levels, who are having extreme difficulty with reading. Emphasis on phonics, basic sight vocabulary, comprehension, and following directions. Fifteen hours of supplemental instruction in a Success Center that supports this course is required.
