Class hours: 64-72 lecture. Limitation on Enrollment: Satisfactory completion of the second module of the Vocational Nursing (VN) program. Corequisite: Nursing: Vocational 406AL. Concepts, principles, and advanced skills of the nursing process - based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs - tomeet all needs in emergency conditions, and threats involving the respiratory and endocrine systems. Leadership focus on patient teaching, reporting status of assigned group of patients, and verification and follow through of physician's orders. Study of psychosocial influences and their application to effective communication with patients. Field trips may be a required part of this course. 1230.20
