Course is offered only on a pass/no-pass basis. Class hours: 144-162 laboratory. Corequisite: Nursing: Vocational 408. Discussion, demonstration, and application of developmental theory and the nursing process to meet the needs of patients in live acute-care clinical situations. Students identify threats and care for the needs of patients with musculo-skeletal, neurological, urinary, reproductive, blood dyscrasias, and visual or auditory problems, with minimal observation and supervision by an instructor and facility staff. Primary focus is the integration and prioritization of all components of the nursing process in the care of medical-surgical patients, in the role of charge nurse. 1230.20
