C 407. Inorganic Chemistry. 4(3,3). A systematic study of the chemistry of elemnts and their compounds, with emphasis on periodicity of the relationships between the properties of substances and their atomic and molecular structures; modern theories of acids and bases; chemical bonding and stereochemistry; reactions and electronic structures of coordination compounds. Synthesis and characterization of some typical inorganic compounds using methods and techniquws which are uniques with are unique to inorganic chemisrty. Prerequisites: C 152, C 201 and M 163. Required of all professional chemistry majors or by special permission.(F)
